Fastest semi final winner Droopys Brindle returned at 7-2 when winning a messy Romford Puppy Cup Final for Paul Young.
The 28kg Brindle collided with favourite Roxholme Scolari shortly after leaving the traps and was in last place approaching the first bend. But as half the field headed towards the Pavillion restaurant, Brindle slipped into third place.
The race looked a buckle between Toot Hill Wizard and My Little Dream but the latter took the role of a gridiron defenceman at the third bend as she swung wide allowing Brindle a clear passageway on the rails. She duly took up the challenge and crossed the winning line in the slowest time of the night, 24.42.
