To coincide with the start of the re-opening of tracks to the public, seven of the GMG tracks – Kinsley, Newcastle, Nottingham, Perry Barr, Sunderland, Swindon and Yarmouth – have got together to produce a new digital racecard which is now available online and it is absolutely superb – writes Greyhound Star editor Floyd Amphlett.
The mobile-friendly cards are available under the banner of Greyhounds Today at https://greyhounds.today/ and are a definite upgrade over the traditional printed card.
The full form can be seen alongside statistics and a fun race-predictor aimed at the more casual customer.
Replays of each greyhound’s last few performances are available and at some tracks a photo of each dog is included.  Weights are shown after kennelling and results are added as the meeting progresses.  Customers can access advance cards and even trials programmes.
Finally, going paper-free is environmentally friendly and reduces contact in a covid-secure environment.
In addition to being available through any modern web browser, this exciting development can be installed to users phones as an app.
Android users can click the “Install Greyhounds Today app to Home Screen” button under the list of tracks; iPhone users can use the “Add to Home Screen” option in Safari’s “Share” menu.
This is without doubt the biggest advance in racecard production since the first form hit the internet.
