Pat Rosney’s advice in his column not to underestimate Swift Hoffman could prove hugely significant given the dog’s brilliant 28.81 (+10) over the RPGTV Scottish Derby course on Saturday night.
The Nottingham track record holder, who was treated for a recently discovered shoulder injury was by far the quickest on the night. Next quickest was Newinn Yolo in 29.06, virtually duplicating their previous performances.
The night’s Derby trialstakes were won by La Cuchilla (29.33), Bowline Bullet (29.41) and Greenwell Ace (29.87).
The other Save The Don (29.25), Ballymac Bobbyjo (29.27), Ascot Woodie (29.29), Calzaghe Vet (29.33), Sandyhill Hitman (29.37), Cashen Maureen (29.41), Burnfoot Alpha, Farloe Nutter (29.63), Shop Gibbon (29.67), Metro Jack (29.70), Tyrur Arthur (29.72) Fares Please (29.85), Farran Sexton (29.91) Wanted (29.93) Tynwald Bish (29.98), Turning Tables (30.09)
Rosney commented: “They all went very well but Hoffman went exceptionally well. They will return to Shawfield next Saturday as I have got to keep them ticking over and if is am going to give them trials it makes obvious sense to take them there.”
