To date there have been 98 British bred litters registered with the Greyhound Stud Book this year.
With breeders are allowed three months to register their litters, the annual total will presumably edge up towards the 2022 figure of 168. That was the second lowest figure on record behind the 143 litters born during the Covid lockdown year of 2020.
As always, the average number of pups per litter continues to be a traditional figure of 6.4. (It’s actually 6.47!). There were 293 dog pups and 342 bitches, clearly a manageable number for the re-homers!
