Coolavanny Hoffa - Derby favourite
Sarah Hennessy
This week we welcome Irish racing royalty with the lovely Sarah Hennessy, from the all conquering Gowran based kennel/stable. Sarah has literally been reared alongside greyhounds and is highly respected for her racing nous.
The Hennessy’s have three runners among the 48 including the Towcester 500 metre track record holder Priceless Jet.
Latest bettings from the sponsors: 5-1 Coolavanny Hoffa, 8-1 Ballinabola Ed, 12-1 Borna Warrior, 14-1 Explosive Boy, Romeo Magico, Vincenzo, 16-1 Ballymac Finn, 20-1 Bockos Bedsit, Calloway Pro Am, Mustang Jet, 25-1 Berefoot Supremo, Bockos Crystal, Magical Kuba, Tullig Raven, 33-1 bar
Explosive Boy looks the part here. The reigning dog of the year, could put this race to bed at the first bend with Tullig Raven and Bockos Crystal looking the pick of the rest for qualifying.
Heat two is a cracker. The opening bend could be make or break for all runners.
Romeo Magico and
Ballymac Finn being the ones to watch in this heat with Mustang Jet having his trap to grab a qualifying place.
Barefoot Supremo ran a great race to qualify last week after a bump at the first bend. This week with a good run to the bend he’ll hopefully qualify with
Macho Pride being a strong contender and
Savana Hero being a strong finisher also.
In heat 4,
Priceless Jet is boxed well out in 6, with a good run he’ll hopefully qualify.
Callaway Masters is a strong stayer on a great run of form and with
Scooby Duchess’ fast pace to the 3rd bend, she could take some catching and I think she can qualify.
In heat 5,
Born Warrior after a great win last week is the dog to keep your eyes on in this heat.
Crafty Kokoro being another powerful runner and
Beach Avenue with his ability to stay could battle through for the remaining qualifying positions.
In heat 6,
Coolavanny Hoffa has the early pace to set the race up for himself after his amazing 29.13 win last week.
Ballinabola Ed with the pace to get through along with
Callaway Pro Am who is a young dog with definite potential.
In heat 7,
Bockos Budsit is another dog with great early pace and I think will make all.
Annagh Bailey is progressing as the competition goes on and showing up more each round.
Ballymac Run is a paceful bitch and I think she can stay on to progress through to the quarter finals.
In the final heat, Vincenzo is a top contender and very fast tracker. Fernades is a strong runner with the ability to make the top 3. While Gortkelly Nestor off the back of his huge run in defeat last week, is an experienced runner and has his box in this heat.
