Roxholme Bob denied the local runners Droopys Rem and Ninja Diva to land the £4,000 final of the Carlsberg Classic over 450 metres at Poole.
Hayley Keightley’s runner went to traps a 7-4 chance, with Aimnfire, his first round conqueror, the 6-4 favourite.
However the favourite was never at the races after failing to start in his best fashion and it was left to Roxholme Bob to lead from trap to line and hold the strong running 20-1 chance Droopys Rem by half a length with Jo Burridge’s Ninja Diva in third.
Burridge has better luck on the undercard when her Ninja Turbo overcame trouble to win the Dorset Standard in a faster 26.85sec, while Ninja Gem won over 640 metres in 39.50sec.
