Bob Harwood, former GM at Monmore, passed away last week writes Floyd Amphlett.
A popular no-nonsense operator who knew the industry at every level, Bob was a Midlands dog man to his boots.
He began work as a kennelman at Kings Heath in 1946. He became Monmore racing manager in 1959 and seven years later was promoted to general manager.
Bob moved onto Perry Barr and Brough Park, and even had a spell at Cradley Heath before returning ‘home’ in 1983. He retired in 1995.
His funeral will be at Redditch Crematorium on Monday 3rd July at 2.45pm
