Sidarian Blaze saw off his close rival Slippery Fred to land the Dandelion Bar & Nightclub Easter Cup final over 550 yards at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.
In what was a virtual action replay of their semi-final, Larry Dunne’s Slippery Fred was off to a flyer and turned the first bend a length and a half in front of Sidarian Blaze.
Graham Holland’s Sidarian Blaze flew down the back straight to lead approaching the third turn.
The son of Kinloch Brae went almost two length clear rounding the last turn but had to dig deep to hold the late challenge of Slippery Fred by a length in a fast 29.52sec.
The pair look ideal types for the English Derby, which is likely to be their next target.
