Laughill Blake is the big riser in the 2018 open race sires table. The March ’12 son of Brett Lee is up to no.5 on the table, a rise of 65 places in a year.
It has also been a good year for Westmead Hawk’s son Taylors Sky up 29 places with Superior Product, Tyrur Big Mike and Droopys Jet also faring well.
In a sign of the development of breeding trends it is interesting that eight of the ten sires were born in Ireland or Britain with the only two imports in the top ten being Kinloch Brae and Superior Product, half the top ten were imported stud dogs.
