GBGB Director of Regulation Mark Bird has responded to a piece published in yesterday’s Editors Chair in which I suggested the Board had ‘bottled’ an investigation concerning bookmaker interference in the conduct of a race at Sittingbourne (Central Park).
Mr Bird wishes to point out that this is absolutely not the case and that the GBGB was merely awaiting a decision by the Gambling Commission before launching its own inquiry into any potential breaches of rules.
The Star will of course publish any conclusions to emerge from that investigation
