June McCombe’s Calzaghe Billy clocked a flying 28.23 for Wimbledon’s 480 metres as the fastest trial before racing on Thursday night one spot quicker than Domino Storm’s fastest of the night. Other trialists included Do It For Twiggy (28.39) and Shaneboy Freddie (28.40).
Meanwhile at Newcastle, Droopys Buick clocked a brilliant 28.18 for the similar distance (TR 27.90).
