Boylesports Duke, one of the ante-post favourites for the Irish Derby, can make a successful step up in trip in the heats of the Gain 600 at Shelbourne Park tonight.

Dolores Ruth’s runner, who was a big money purchase for John Boyle out of the Open Unraced stake at Clonmel, is the only wide runner in the third heat and recently clocked a fast 29.56sec over the Derby trip of 550 yards.

He can soon be in charge and score at the main expense of Country Legend and Slippery Snowey.

Graham Holland’s Jo Jo Fantasy, also looks a natural for this trip and can take the opening qualifier.

He finished strongly last week over the shorter 525 yard trip when scoring in 28.28sec and can soon be in control.

Cork raider Newlawn Simon can provide the main danger.

Gerry Merriman’s Highview Apollo, who clocked a very fast 32.15sec over the course and distance last year, can take heat two.

Irish Cesarewitch finalist Philiblue can provide the forecast link.

Ballyhooley Henry, who won the €10,000 Night of Stars 600 last year, can take the last qualifier.

Tom O’Neill’s dog can get first run on main rival Kilara Rex.
