Brigadier Bullet remains at the top of the ante-post betting for the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket, which starts at Crayford on Saturday, after another polished performance in a Trial Stakes at the track on Saturday. Quickly hitting the front, he never looked like getting beaten and kept on well to beat running on kennelmate Aayamza Breeze by two and a half lengths in 45.88sec (-.30) for the 714 metres trip.
Earlier in the evening, Heather Dimmock’s newcomer Stardom made a very encouraging debut. She did not enjoy the smoothest of runs, but stuck to the task well before finally getting her nose in front rounding the last couple of bends and on to a two length success..
Her winning time of 45.78sec (normal) was the fastest of the night and connections will be hoping for some improvement from her after that experience.
In a trial over the Golden Jacket course before Crayford’s morning meeting, the well supported Affleck Bolt posted a pleasing enough 45.78sec (-.20).
