“The GBGB welcomes the announcement that Arena Racing has taken over Belle Vue and Perry Barr Stadiums with immediate effect. The GBGB Regulatory Board have today met and I am pleased to confirm that they have agreed to transition the existing stadium licence to ARC.
With them already owning Newcastle and Sunderland tracks, ARC will now have effective control of 19% of the total number of GBGB registered tracks (the same number as Ladbroke Corals). I very much hope that with these new tracks being added to their portfolio, ARC will invest in their infrastructure and support the track staff and attached trainers.
Specifically relating to Belle Vue, I sincerely trust that ARC will give their full backing and endeavours as to the future of the track and in their support for the ‘Save Belle Vue Stadium Action Group’, who have worked tirelessly to save this historic track from property developers.”
