Belle Vue have confirmed that BAPP, one of the country’s biggest nut and bolt suppliers, have stepped in to sponsor the Northern Flat and Scurry Gold Cup.
Both events will get underway in mid-September with finals due to be held on the track’s ’90th birthday party’ – which has been pushed back from this Sunday, until October 1.
GM Mick Hardy said: “Chris Garwood, who is a director of BAPP stepped in last year, and then took a bit of stick from his mates over being labelled ‘the saviour of the Scurry’. He is a Barnsley lad after all! Joking aside, we are delighted that Chris is involved again and both competitions will carry similar prize money to last year. We are also planning to have a host of other finals for local runners on the same night which should be a cracker.”
