Locally trained Banabane was ‘Dominoesque’ when landing the final of the Coral Brighton Belle at Hove on Thursday night.
The Seamus Cahill trained black went to traps at 4-5f despite the presence in the field of the living legend that is Domino Storm, and produced a performance worthy of her great rival at her peak.
Banabane’s sectional was an astonishing 4.08 in what was her fourth in a row and seventh in her last nine races. Her winning time was the third fastest of the year over course and distance, better only by her kennelmate Live Annie (29.66, 29.68).
