Badminton Girl produced an impressive performance to land the Red Mills / NTSC Open Unraced Bitch Stake over 525 yards at Newbridge on Friday.
David McGrath’s runner went to traps a 5-2 shot as the money poured on the well-drawn 5-4 favourite Cashmerefinn.
However it was Badminton Girl who led around the opening turn and this July 13 daughter of Brett Lee went on to beat the favourite by six lengths in a fast 28.44sec.
She is likely to go for the Puppy Oaks in a few weeks’ time before a crack at the Sporting Press Oaks in June.
