Poole champion Boozed Miranda has trialled back from a winter rest and is being prepared for the forthcoming Golden Crest (March 24-April 4).
Jo Burridge’s brindle has not raced since finishing down the field in a Hove final in December whilst chasing a seven-timer.
A 26.36 winner at her peak (450m TR 26.20), Miranda recorded 26.84 in a four bender back at her home course last week and her trainer is planning on graded racing as final preparation.
Mrs Burridge said: “I have spoken to the racing office and explained that she really needs two or three races to be ready for the competition. Hopefully they can find them.”
The Dorset based handler hopes to have at least three in the £4,000 event but it will arrive to early for exciting new arrival Ninja Diva (Droopys Scolari-Droopys Force, Sep 13).
The unraced blue puppy clocked 27.11 in her first missed trial and reduced that to 26.97 in her final qualifier.
Jo said: “She was originally a ‘Droopys’ but was bought by Terry Coveney who prefixes all his runners ‘Ninja’.
“I told him, if she is to be a good as we think, then she needs to be a diva.
“Given her age, she is obviously very exciting, but she is completely unraced and we will have to take our time with her.”
