Coolavanny Aunty was the star of the opening round of the ARC Grand Prix at Sunderland on Thursday night.
Angela Harrison’s double Cat One winner went to traps at 1-6f in the opening heat and ran with the authority that her SP suggested in winning by seven lengths in 39.29 (TR 38.95).
The formbook held up reasonably well with all six favourites qualifying and 10 Newcastle runners making it through to the last 18.
