Droopys Astorish won his run-off with Candlelight Fire and was rewarded, as the only railer, with a plum draw in Thursday’s Ladbrokes Puppy Derby Final at Monmore.
Racing manager Tony Williamson stated: “Droopys Astorish led all the way winning by one length – sectional 4.41 – winning time 28.57, in strong winds going approximately -30. Comment Rails Always Led.
“Unfortunately Candlelight Fire checked visibly between the bends after the line. . will report back when vet has checked the dog over. His comment was ‘early pace middle every chance’.
“The (final night) supporting card has had some great entries all races over subscribed I feel Bramble Magpie has a great draw in two and should take some beating on the night.”
