Beaten Nottingham Puppy Classic favourite Arthur Noodle produced a stunning 28.52 solo trial to head the final trial session prior to the closure of the Oaks at Swindon.
Patrick Godfrey’s 23 kilo lightweight has been beaten in her three races since the Nottingham Cat 1 decider, most recently by Dorotas Wildcat in the first round of the Eclipse. In fact, the eventual winner of the event is the only hound to have gone quicker at the Oaks venue with runs of 28.35 and 28.51.
Race sponsor John Turner would surely have been delighted with Jaytee Sienna’s 28.96 return on her first sight of the circuit. Other to break 29.00 were Brynoffa Rosie (28.97) and Pete Swadden’s Cadburys Hero (28.84).
The Oaks draw takes place on Wednesday with the first round on Sunday afternoon
Swindon are to serve Sunday lunch (£9.95 p p) for the Oaks first round meeting on December 2nd. Doors open at 1pm and races commences an hour later.
