ARC have revised the schedule for their contracted tracks from Monday and there is quite a lot to take in.
The first thing to notice is that all their afternoon schedules have been cut to one meeting. Despite the suspension of racing at Belle Vue: Kinsley, Nottingham, Sheffield, Swindon and Sunderland have all lost meetings. There are now 32 meetings, compared to 39 previously.
However, the easing of restrictions on racecards will alleviate some of the issues with each track having 12 races – bar the two of the Saturday meetings (Perry Barr and Newcastle) which will stage 14 each. In fact, Newcastle – which keeps its five meetings – is the biggest beneficiary of the shake-up with an extra 12 races per week.
Overall, there is a net loss of two races (388 v 390).
