ARC have extended their deal with the four remaining Greyhound Media Group tracks: Kinsley, Sheffield, Swindon and Yarmouth for another five years. It was due to conclude in December – writes Star Editor Floyd Amphlett.
While the details of the agreement, including any get-out clauses, will obviously remain confidential, the move can only be considered as good news for the longer term security of all owners and trainers connected to the four tracks.
In addition to their own five greyhound tracks, ARC also have a long term deal with the four Entain stadia. The statement reads:
ARC AND GREYHOUND MEDIA GROUP SIGN NEW DEAL
Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) and Greyhound Media Group (“GMG”) have signed a new deal which will see racing from the group continue to be broadcast via The Racing Partnership (“TRP”) and Premier Greyhound Racing (“PGR”).
The new five year deal, which will come in to effect from 1 January 2025 will see all racing action from Kinsley, Sheffield, Swindon and Yarmouth continue on the TRP platform for retail bookmakers as well as the Premier Greyhound Racing streams online with a total of fifteen fixtures per week.
Mark Kingston, Director of Media Technology and Production at ARC said, “We are delighted to confirm our ongoing long term relationship with the four GMG tracks, which continue to be a hugely important part of the TRP and PGR services.
“This deal will secure a significant element of the fixtures that constitute the ongoing PGR service, we look forward to being in a position to contract with other tracks in the coming months and years, as we seek to optimise the service that we provide.”
On behalf of GMG, Jason Begg said, “We are pleased to announce the renewal of this partnership with ARC. GMG remains committed to supporting British greyhound racing and look forward to continuing our working relationship with ARC and Premier Greyhound Racing.”
