There is quality from all corners of the land in next Saturday’s Ladbrokes Gold Cup and Stayers Classic Finals at Monmore.
The dozen runners will travel from as far apart as Shawfield and Central Park, from Yarmouth to Yorkshire, there is even a local representative.
Quickest on the clock in the Gold Cup was Angela Harrison’s recent Sunderland Classic winner Velvet Juliet, with kennelmate Droopys Live fastest in the stayers event.
Monmore racing manager Tony Williamson said: “Firstly great to see Sandra Ralph’s kennel represented in the final. Droopys Aussie ran a great race and show guts to win. Looks a good final with Seaglass Tiger now getting the one with defending champ King Turbo and Velvet Juliet likely to dominate the pace early.
“In the Stayers final, if Antigua Fire can show a bit more early, he has the best draw and is so strong at the finish. But any of the others could win with luck at the trap rise.
“I thought the track ran particularly well despite the strong winds.”
