Doncaster trainer Steve Anderson, who is based at Houghton-le-Spring, will be going “home” to Newcastle next month.
Having made a name for himself initially in a two-year stint at Pelaw Grange, his further success at Doncaster attracted the attention of Newcastle Operations Manager Ian Walton and he was quick to recruit him to the cause at The Fossway to further strengthen the graders at his track following Harry Williams’ decision to concentrate on open racing.
Anderson says: “I have been very lucky to have worked with some great people at Pelaw and Doncaster, but it has always been my ambition to train at Newcastle. However, I will be staying with Doncaster until June 16 so that I can help them get their Bags contract off to a good start.”
