Fire Height Amy overcame trouble to land the final of the Barrys Tea Stake over 750 yards at Cork on Monday.
Brendan Maunsell’s bitch, the 5-4 favourite after breaking the track record last week, trapped out well and looked like going round the first bend in front but she got shuffled back, which allowed Kilcrea Hawk to go clear.
Fire Height Amy was second with a lap to go and passed the pace-maker on the final turn to hold the fast finishing Crompaun Jamesy by a length and a half in 41.59sec.
Droopys Oddysey stayed on through beaten dogs to finish fourth.
