Fire Height Amy set a new track record in the Barrys Tea Stake over 750 yards at Cork on Saturday.
Brendan Maunsell’s bitch, who clocked the fastest time in the heats of the competition with 41.51sec, was well beaten by ante-post favourite Droopys Oddysey in last week’s second round and was allowed to go off at 5-2 when the pair met again.
However the daughter of Ace Hi Rumble forced her way to the front at the opening turn while the favourite Droopys Oddysey dropped back to last. She went on to score by eight and a half lengths in 41.14sec, taking five spots off Woe Katie’s previous best.
Crompaun Jamesy came from last to first to deny Karlow Master and Kilcrea Hawk by three quarter of a length and a head in 41.95sec.
