Mark Wallis’ East Anglian Derby winner (T2 9-4f) found first bend trouble and was beaten two and a half lengths in Friday’s semis by one of his Yarmouth challengers Ajlo Legalbeagle (T6 8-1) who clocked 24.36 (-10).
There were Janssens-Gaskin forecasts in the remaining two qualifiers. The winner was Barricane Hazard (T1 14-1) who beat Chopchop Mabel (T6 8-1) by a length in 24.45.
Diablo (T1 7-2) landed the fastest qualifier in 24.21 with Hunter Ben (T4 3-1) beaten two and three quarters.
