The first four over the line in the Ladbrokes.com Summer 540 Trophy were all locally trained but it was the biggest priced of them, Seefin Aldo (Royal Impact-Adored, Oct 13) who took the £1,000 first prize.
The Julie Luckhurst trained black, who only recently returned to the flat following a fall over the jumps, went to traps at 5-1 and was soon in mid division. Coming around the last two bends the race appeared to be at the mercy of Mystical Charlie (T1 7-4jf) and the strong finishing Tinas Paddy (T2 4-1), but the pair tangled and Seefin Aldo (T6 5-1) got home by two from Dranoel in 34.08.
