Queen Adele (Tullymurry Act-Skate On, Oct 15) took seven spots off her own Henlow 428m track record when landing the fastest semi final of the Bedfordshire Mini Derby.
The John Lambe trained British bred 4-7 favourite, won by seven lengths in 25.26 (N) with Brinkleys Rosie also qualifying for next week’s decider.
The other two qualifiers went to locals. Carol Grasso’s 4-1 chance Stringer Bell (Ballymac Vic-Auntie, Jul 15) also had a seven length winning margin in taking the next quickest qualifier in 25.47 – Tynwald Storm was second.
The first qualifier was won by the versatile Layton Boy (Ballymac Vic-Pennys Lady, Oct 17). Steve Fletcher’s 9-2 chance, who has graded wins over 460m and 550m, beat Derby Blake by two and a half lengths in 25.77.
