Bockos Diamond is fast making up into onto of the all time greats. Conditions were not easy on Saturday at Shelbourne but despite that, at the end of a gruelling competition, he came away once more to make his career record 16 wins from 17 starts.
At just 26 months of age and with less than 20 races in the tank, there could even be a touch better to come from him in 2025. A scary prospect for anyone who looks to take him on but a mouthwatering one for those of us who watch with awe from the sidelines.
December 22 are the oldest Coolavanny Hoffa offspring, his Limekiln Evie, just a June 23 whelp, ducked under 18 seconds at Drumbo to win the award there this week. She has only had three starts, making a big leap forward with each of them. Her dam only managed an A9 Crayford win in a limited racing career but she is a half-sister to Pestana.
The other June 23 on the list this week is Left Corner Back. He stopped the clock at 28.88 (-20 going) at Enniscorthy on his race debut. He is the first pup in his dam’s maiden litter to see race action, getting them off to a flying start. That dam is a half-sister to Derby finalist Mickys Barrett and a litter sister to exceptional hurdler, Lenson Doolin.
Epic Ace stretched the unbeaten start to his career to four when winning at Tralee. Those win have included the fastest 350y time of the year at Shelbourne, the third fastest 350y time of 2024 at Thurles and the sixth quickest 550y time at Tralee. All seven of the December 22 litter who have raced have won.
