Ballymac Bonnie, who came from out the clouds to win her semi-final last week, can beat a quality field in the Track Bookmakers Marathon over 1010 yards at Harolds Cross on Friday.
The TV Trophy and Corn Cuchulainn winner came from at least 25 lengths behind on the second circuit after early trouble to beat Vulturi by three quarters of a length in 58.50sec.
The previous week she set the standard when lying much closer to the pace and scoring in 58.01sec.
Pat Dalton’s Tradition looks the main danger. The daughter of previous victory Flying Winner clocked the third fastest time ever last week when registering a 15 length victory over Kearneys Lila in 57.58sec.
She beat Ballymac Bonnie twice in the summer over 750 yards and if getting an uncontested lead would take some catching.
Vulturi is the dog that stands in her way of getting to the front.
Liam Dowling’s 2014 Derby finalist is a top 750 yard performer who just about lasts home and he could hinder the chances of Tradition.
Ex-Mark Wallis trained runner and TV Trophy finalist Ribble Atom is the other big runner in the race.
She is not showing as much early pace as she did in the UK St Leger but is staying on well and was denied by a head last week by long-time leader Kiltrea Rachel, who hung on to score in 58.20sec.
