YARMOUTH TO HOST FIRST GONE TO THE DOGS – LIVE! SEPTEMBER 18 2024

Yarmouth will host the first Gone To The Dogs – Live! outside broadcast on the night of the Click Competitions 78th East Anglian Greyhound Derby Final on Wednesday, September 18.

Presented by regular Gone To The Dogs podcast host Dani Jackson with Greyhound Star tipping and betting expert Joe Conneely in the betting ring, the three hour-plus show will see the first outside broadcast at a UK greyhound track since the days of RPGTV, latterly GTV.

Full coverage of all the races including betting analysis, interviews and features will form the core of the presentation. There will be special guests, but the greyhounds themselves will be the centre of attention on one of the biggest night’s racing of the year.

Jackson said: “This is hugely exciting news for greyhound racing and hopefully is just a stepping stone to more regular extended TV coverage of the big nights. We’re taking the Gone To The Dogs podcast on the road and I can’t wait – Yarmouth Derby final night is one of the best nights of the year with a great atmosphere.

“Our intention is to bring that aspect back to the screen! We’ve assembled a brilliant team of people who are helping us to put this together – and you’ll no doubt see a few familiar faces on the night. My old RPGTV colleague Jonathan Hobbs is working behind the scenes – but I’m sure we’ll drag him in front of the camera at some point!”

The Gone To The Dogs podcast, established by Dani Jackson and Joe Andrews, has been relaunched in recent weeks with Jackson now joined by the Greyhound Star’s betting expert and tipster Joe Conneely.

The team are looking forward to taking the initiative with live broadcasting of greyhound racing and see this as a fantastic opportunity for the sport.

Hobbs said: “We are working with all stakeholders on this and have to thank Garry Nash at Premier Greyhound Racing and Rachel Corden at Arc for their help and cooperation – not least also the Franklin family at Yarmouth.

“As Dani says, we have a hugely experienced team working on this project and this broadcast will be the first of many. Our intention is to make the big nights even bigger.

“Dani has a great following through her work on Sky Sports and for William Hill, not to mention RPGTV and GTV, and she is a brilliantly enthusiastic presenter of the Gone To The Dogs podcast. Incidentally, we have great plans for that, too.”

The Yarmouth show will be broadcast on a dedicated YouTube channel and used very much as a testbed for future presentations.

Hobbs added: “We want to showcase the sport and what better way to do that than from the track itself.

“The emphasis will be on showing what a great night out greyhound racing is, but we’ll also get a taste of the betting ring – always busy on Yarmouth Derby final night. The team will hopefully guide viewers in the right direction should they wish to have a flutter!

“It’s also about highlighting the work of trainers and kennelhands, and giving them a profile, the support of owners also – and our love of the greyhounds themselves, both those racing on the night and the ex-racers enjoying their new lives.”
