Newcastle undercard tips

Yesterday was a mixed evening on the tipping front. Unfortunately, the NAP sadly went lame at the first bend so firstly I wish Underground Roxi a speedy recovery. We had a 5/2 early-priced winner returning at 10/11 and a value bet at 3/1 returning 4/6 and getting beat but that’s Greyhound Racing!

Tonight we head to the North East. I have already previewed the Time Greyhound Nutrition Northern Flat Final so will focus on the other finals on the card.

ARC Angel Of The North

This is a historic, prestigious competition won last year by the Michael Fieldson-trained Magical Camilla.

It’s a wide-open Final this year with a healthy winning prize of £7,500 up for grabs. Leighas Dream looks like she will go off favourite. She has been paw perfect throughout the competition clocking a rapid 28.38 in last week’s semi-final beating Wraysbury Katie four lengths.

Untold Ruble beat Coolavanny Mercy a length and a half in 28.50 and Southfield Daisy got up late to beat Coppice Ella half a length in the slowest of the semi finals clocking 28.98.

It is difficult to look past Barry Denby’s Leighas Dream who starts and stays. She has a good makeup in trap six where she shouldn’t have any issues clearing Coppice Ella on her immediate inside so if coming away and getting around the first two bends unscathed, I would fancy Leighas Dream to go on and score but any mistakes from her, Untold Ruble and Coolavanny Mercy will be trying to lead and take advantage.

Other Finals

7.11 is the Arena Racing Company Sprint Trophy Final where Romeo To Victory in trap five can follow up last week’s heat success and at 8.19 The Other Donny can take advantage of a buckle in front of him between Romeo Jackson and Jonny Whiskers to arrive late and land the Arena Racing Company Standard Final.

Some big names returning in trials

Both Hove tonight and Towcester on Sunday have notable trialers. The Liz McNair team send King Memphis to the south coast. This will be the first time that he has been on a track since the Derby Final.

At Towcester on Sunday, the Northamptonshire Sprint winner Broadway Murty will be back in action. He trialled last Sunday, clocking a slick 15.57 (+5) which suggests he is as good as ever. The winner of 10 of his 15 career starts has not raced since early April at Hove.

The two trial cards can be found below in full.

Shelbourne Greyhound Museum

Shelbourne is on the hunt for memorabilia to create an exhibition celebrating ‘the rich history of greyhound racing.’ There are sure to be trophies and presentation jackets sitting in garages and lofts that mean something special to the sport.

The ethos behind the exhibit is inspire, community and legacy. Three important pillars on which to build. For those who have something that they might wish to add then head to https://grireland.ie/museum and speak to the team who are curating.
