Nottingham Open race tips tonight
We have an open race bonanza coming up later in the week. We kick off with three minor opens at Nottingham this evening. The headline act is the Gemma Evans-trained Millbank Boiler. He goes from trap two in the Arena Racing Company Standard Trophy over 500m at 8.19 pm.
The September 22 pup has shown his class and versatility having clocked 23.76 at Romford over 400m off a flying 3.59 sectional. He has since followed that up by winning impressively at Monmore Green in 28.17 over 480m on June 29.
His two trials at the Colwick Park venue have been impressive. He dipped under the 30-second barrier last Monday clocking 29.97 off a 5.17 sectional.
He has the perfect dog drawn inside him in Vale Bluebell who he should comfortably lead into the first bend. With the talented Droopys Suprstar on his immediate outside in trap three coming to the track without a look, this race could open up for Millbank Boiler between the first and second bend where he can put the race to bed heading into the third.
Trap four Samber Kian is in great form in A1 and open race company but this is a step up in class against the likes of Millbank Boiler and Droopys Suprstar. If he manages to lead early he’ll make a race of it but this is all about Millbank Boiler.
There are two 305m open race sprints on the card. The first sees National Sprint runner-up Bluejig Ophelia running from trap four. He can get the better of Cappaneale Rocky in the 7.44. In the 9.11 De Bumblebee is boxed in trap three and can get back to winning ways
