After the Time Dundalk International and the opening round of the This Runs Deep unraced competition at Shelbourne, it seemed like a good time to bring back the Irish Performances Of The Week.

Droopys Mandolin had to win the Dundalk performance after Friday’s supreme effort to overhaul Tribal Syd. She showed again why she is one of the top bitches in Ireland at present with a gutsy display.

Shelbourne saw a string of fast times last weekend. Yorkie Ollie had lit up the stopwatches prior to his debut with a 28.00 trial, backing it up with a 28.09 win. Stiffer tasks await but he has that air of excitement about him.

Burgess Jack continues to produce sprinting efforts up there with the best of them. He holds three of the five quickest times this year over the 330 yards at Curraheen Park. He shows no signs of slowing down, even as he edges towards veteran status.

There was a new fastest of the year at Enniscorthy as Elite Josh ran away with an A2 contest. A 28.70 Shelbourne scorer in March, it was a clear career best from him.

Kapuka Warrior continued his love affair with Kilkenny, unbeaten in his last nine starts at the track. April 2023 was the last time he tasted defeat at St James Park. The dog to beat him? Subsequent East Anglian Derby winner Watch The Limo.
