Excellent entry for Sunderland puppy comp
The increase in prize money making every ARC sponsored Category Two event worth £7,500 to the winner seems to have born fruit once again with a very decent entry for the ARC Puppy Cup at Sunderland. (It was worth £6K last year)
The track announced a full entry of 24 runners which included a significant number of Southern based youngsters. They include David Mullins’ 28.98 Hove winner March On Freddie. While Midlands based Untold Quetzal also has sub-27 trial form.
Phil Milner’s ‘Keefills’ are finally starting to compete with pups with less experience than they have.Needless to say though the locals are also extremely strong, and none more so than Tom Heilbron with the exciting Untold Rubel, who already boasts a 27.25 run for Doncaster’s 450m.
Racing Manager Joe Frelford will also be pleased with the seeding split which reads: 9 railers, 9 middles and 6 wides. Also, although ARC have long since dropped their ‘must trial’ requirement, all 24 entries have trialled at the track.
Swords Rex has been withdrawn from the 3rd quarter-final of the Derby on Saturday 15th June (Race 7 19:47). Withdrawal reason – lame Withdrawal time – 11:20 10/6/24
Perry Barr will celebrate Armed Forces Day this month by offering free admission to veterans and those serving in His Majesty’s Naval Service, the British Army and RAF. The Aldridge Road venue will open its doors to members of the armed forces on Saturday, June 29, as part of the day which celebrates the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
Anyone who shows a Veterans ID card on the night or provides a copy of their military service record will be able to watch the venue’s 12 live races on the night for free to cap off a day of celebrations.
