It is debatable whether this was the best ARC National Sprint FInal of recent years. Beyond question though was the quality of the winner.

Bombout Bullet was imperious throughout, going unbeaten through the first two qualifiers, clocking the quickest run in both, and the layers made it 4-1 the field bar Belinda Green’s runner. In hindsight, he looks overpriced.

Bullet’s winning time of 17.52 was the quickest over the course and distance this year and compares favourably with recent winners: 2022Gougane Jet 17.56, 2021Crossfield Dusty 17.65, 2020Loggies Lito 17.78, 2019Troy Bella 17.79, 2018Calzaghe Flash 17.55.

As expected, Racing Post has severed its connection with RPGTV. The ‘Sporty Stuff’ branding has been promoted for the last two years on the channel. Major changes to the programme format or presenters are not anticipated though there will be significant changes in the tracks featured following the hugely significant cessation of input from the Entain tracks: Crayford, Hove, Monmore and Romford.
