Ballydoyle Honey overcame sibling rivalry to score in the semi -finals of the Billy Mulvaney Senior and Junior Open 600 at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.
The Sporting Press Oaks winner was led up first by Budgie Bypass and then litter sister Samiya, who was also a heat winner last week, but she came storming through to lead off the last turn and score by three and a half lengths in 32.10sec.
There was a shock in the second semi-final when Blenheim Cracker obliged.
Ronnie McKeown’s runner blasted out and was soon clear to beat Highview Apollo by two lengths with the hot favourite Laughil Duke in third.
Tarsna Havana caught the eye over 525 yards when pulling clear at halfway to score a five and a half length victory in 28.19sec, the fastest of the night.
