Paul Wheeler, arguably the most successful and well known Australian breeder of greyhounds has died suddenly – as reported by the Greyhound Recorder website.

I met Paul Wheeler on a couple of occasions and found him to be a modest, passionate and fabulously interesting student of greyhound breeding.

To this day, if I think of the terms ‘Australian breeding’, it would be Paul and his ‘Bale’ hounds who would first spring to mind. Our thoughts are with Jan and family who, at this very difficult time, should know how much their achievements have been admired and respected in this global family.

And they always will be – through the legacy of their hounds
