Trumps Benefit (11-8) and Bubbly Apache (9-4) are drawn as neighbours in the semi finals of the ARC Puppy Classic.
Carol Weatherall’s favourite was a spectacular winner for the fourth time in his seven outings to date with a ten length victory. Swing Bridge, yet another heat winner, is also drawn in the same semi.
Three of the potential ARC Select Stakes runners also trialed on Monday night with Ballymac Trend (middle) clocking the quickest of the trio.
There was a much improved run froom Thorn Falcon (wide), who even allowing for going allowance, found 41 spots on his first sighter. Bubbly Bollinger (rails), who beat the Derby winner at Hove last time out was marginally the slowest of the trio (See below)
Other confirmed applicants for the six runner invitation, which takes place, alongside the Puppy Classic Final on Monday August 30 are: Tenpin, Jaguar Macie and Signet Ace (all rails) with Pacemaker Ted and Drumcrow Brent (both wide).
ARC spokesman Dave Baldwin said: “If anybody is wishing to put their greyhound forward for either select or select stayers that closes Friday @ 11am they will need to have had a race or trial around Nottingham before entries close.
“We do have trial slots available on Thursday Morning if needed, please ring the Racing Office.”
Dave Baldwin has confirmed that the following six trainers are definite acceptors for the ARC Judgement Night at Nottingham on Monday September 6: Patrick Janssens, Mark Wallis, Kevin Hutton, David and John Mullins, and Gemma Evans.
Baldwin said: “Unfortunately Liz McNair didn’t feel able to raise a team with John stepping up to take her place. Gemma has taken over the kennels from Ernie Gaskin, who is taking a break following a particularly tough year.”
