There could be a debate this week on which was the overall best performance of the week. We suggest it might be between two Antiguas. At Hove Antigua Romeo set a new 500 metre track record with a 28.86 run, while dual distance star Antigua Fire destroyed the best open race field of the week at Crayford.
Among the unlucky dogs not to feature this week are Ballymac Ambrose with a 28.54 run for Nottingham’s 480 metres. But he was up against a genuine track champion in Locnamon Mike.
Annaliese Thompson’s black has won all four of his 730 metre opens at Nottingham by an aggregate 22 lengths and was only 10 spots off his FOY for 2019 when clocking 41.82 on Monday.
Another to look out for is the very young Kinsley pup Acomb Jenny. But look at her breeding and her ability will come as no surprise. But then you might say the same for Poole’s similarly aged Master Roo.
