The Romford Greyhound Owners Association Dog of the Month for August was the prolific Swift Magnum (Kinloch Brae-Swift Salt, Aug 13), owned by Mr M Lilley and trained by Ernie Gaskin.
The remarkable brindle went to traps on eight occasions and won the lot including an A1, three 400 metre opens, plus the heat and final of a £500 competition over 575m. Stretch the record a little longer and it runs to eight wins from his last ten races.
Bitch of the Month was Camps Wonder (Kinloch Brae-Miss McGrath, Aug 14). Jointly owned by trainer Paul Young and Mr RA Arnold, the versatile brindle had three wins (A5, A3 S2) and a second. In fact, Wonder has five wins and a second in her last six outings.
