Greyhound Trader reported “great business” at their Sheffield sale on Wednesday 19th January.

A total of 36 lots went up for sale and all but two were sold with a combined £67,200 being spent.  The average price on the day was £1,976.

Nathan Corden of Greyhound Trader said “We are absolutely delighted by the Sheffield sale and we cannot thank the team at Owlerton for being so helpful.

“They accommodated us at short notice (after Entain cancelled all Greyhound Trader sale at their venues).

“The day went very smoothly and I would say it was the busiest we have ever been in the ring at one of our sales with a big crowd there.”

Top lot of the day was Magical Angel (sent over by Pat Guilfoyle) which was purchased for £7,300 and will ironically continue her UK career at Monmore.

The June puppy by Cabra Firmino had five races on her card including a 28.85 win at Galway. Her 29.03 was the fastest of the day (results below).

Corden continued “Our next sale is at Harlow on the afternoon of Saturday 19th February and already we have over 70 entries for that sale which we need to whittle down to about 44-46 lots.  “After Harlow we move to Towcester for our Pre-Derby sale on Wednesday 23rd March which promises to be a cracker with all the top vendors reserving spots a couple of months ahead.”
