Oxford stage the final of the RPGTV Cowley Puppy Collar this evening.

Racing Manager Simon Pearson previews the final and the six supporting opens.

Simon says: “A very competitive puppy race with five locals, and Tom Levers joining us on November 1. It is a case of ‘whoever leads, wins’, in my view. If I was forced to choose one, it would probably be Signet Maisie. Although she is a middle seed, I think the draw will suit her fine. She is very young but has won three of her four races and has enough early pace to lead all the way.” Sel: 2-4-5

Simon says: “This isn’t the best of the stayers opens and Kevin has three of his 14 runners in it. Really not so sure abot this. Although he got beat, the fact that Broadway Mural was made a 4-5f for the open at Towcester, suggests he probably has a bit of pace and he should get a decent run on the outside.” Sel: 6-5

Simon says: “The six has has a couple of wins around here and will take some beating, but Coppice Dylan is in a slightly easier race than last time out and will probably just edge it.” Sel 4-6-2

Simon says: “Moments Of Magic is running so well at the moment and loves the place. With the one not the quickest breaker, I can see the two leading all the way and one running on for second.” Sel 2-1-5

Simon says: “Coppice Tenzin has to be the night’s banker. He is prolific here, looks ideally drawn and I just can’t see him being beaten. Cooligold trialled well and Distant Piper went well last time out.” Sel 6-4-5

Simon says: “There is no doubt at all that King Memphis is the fastest in the line-up. He can lead, or has he showed in the first round, he can come from behind to win. It might help him that Golden Palace isn’t the quickest away. As for the others, I would expect Cat Island to lead on the inside. I can’t see him holding the favourite unless he finds trouble. Long Fellow would have been better off drawn in red.” Sel 4-1-3

Prices: 10-11 King Memphis, 5-2 Cat Island, 13-2 Queen Dusty, 10-1 Golden Palace, Long Fellow, 14-1 Droopys Hanover

Simon says: “It has to be Come On Lloyd from a perfect draw. He has bags of early pace and will be gone.” Sel 4-1-5
