Mark Pierrepont has once again produced digital times to the Derby ‘halfway’ – a set point close to the Towcester third bend.

Track record holder Clona Duke was unsurprisingly the quickest hound to that mark, but only three spots quicker than the marauding Geordie Brookside Richie.

The second table is from the ‘halfway’ to the winning line and provides a unique record of the strong finishers. Ballyhimin Mel and Jacktavern Bella were inseparable with puppy Maree Champion in third slot.

The overall winning time was always going to be headed by Clona Duke, though it is interesting that the three quickest times were all recorded on +10 going. With a going shift of 20 spots, (.10 fast to .10 slow) Swords Rex actually matches his kennelmate.
