Trainer Dave Pruhs pulled off a 45-1 double to land both £500 finals at Nottingham on Monday.
Swords Wizard (Zero Ten-Hare St Sparkler, Oct 13) went to the striped box as an 8-1 chance in the 500m decider and held off favourite Mustang Major (T2 2-1) by a head in 29.06.
Veteran Laughing Gravy (Head Bound-Rafas Wee Pet, Oct 12) showed he is not yet ready for the sofa when winning the battle of the wide seeds in the 305m sprint decider. The orange 4-1 shot was made to work every metre by Sidarian Bullet (T6 11-10f) before prevailing by a neck in 17.92 (+10).
It proved a particularly brutal night for punters with Viking Jimmy (5-4f) the only winning jolly from the nine opens.
Among those turned over were Ballymac Jake (4-7f), Dorotas Hooligan (1-3f) and Empress Katie (1-4f)
