On what was a very wet and windy day at Yarmouth, the sun shone in the sales ring as 38/39 greyhounds sold at a fantastic 97% clearance rate.
Top lot of the day was Garnacanty Bingo who sold for £4000 after an impressive 28.96 run in the very last trial of the day. The Apr’21 bitch out of new stud sensation Malachi went to Jason Gormall at Henlow, who will be looking forward to an exciting future ahead with her.
Fastest of the day was Wave Me On who fetched £2300 in the room. The son of Rio Quattro had some impressive form in Ireland and it was no surprise to see him take command on the day recording 28.86.
Other notable sales were Unlock Unblock (£3100), Droopys Jiggy (£3700) and Wee Fat Mac (£3100).
Total sales for the day added up to £50,100, calculating an average price of £1318.
James Corden of Greyhound Trader said ‘It was a fantastic sales day at Yarmouth yesterday. The staff at Yarmouth were extremely helpful throughout it all, there was a good crowd there and all the vendors went home happy so it was a great success.’
Continuing ‘Of specific note it was good to see only 4 greyhounds being required to use our transportation service afterwards, suggesting that the very vast majority will be staying at Yarmouth, adding numbers to their graded strength.
That is what we try to achieve by going around to all different venues and hopefully some other venues see this and perhaps will give us a go as we look to create our 2023 schedule ASAP.’
This was Greyhound Trader’s last track sale of 2022. There will be an Online Auction running 18-20 November before a break over the Christmas period.
