The Star Sports, ARC & LPS Greyhound Derby 2019
‘We would like to thank everyone for their patience’ said Nottingham’s Rachel Corden. ‘‘We can now confirm that the dates for The Star Sports, ARC & LPS Greyhound Derby 2019 are as above:
A dispensation has been granted to extend the competition by two days which means that the need for the quick succession between the Third Round and the Quarter Final is removed. We feel this gives the greyhounds a greater resting opportunity at an important point in the competition, it aids those trainers travelling from a distance, and it also assists those that want to attend trackside by facilitating weekend scheduling’.
‘We would ask for a little more patience whilst we seek to maximise customer opportunities for Final’s night. We will aim to open ticket sales on Monday 25 February, and entry forms will be available from that date. The entry fee will be £250 which hopefully makes it accessible for all those wanting to live the ‘Derby Dream’.
The winner’s purse is set at £100,000 and we are extremely grateful to Star Sports, ARC and Local Parking Security Limited for their financial support. We consider ourselves very fortunate that Ben Keith, ARC and Richard & Donna Evans share our passion and appreciate the significance of the Derby to so many in our sport.
Dad would have been so proud that Nottingham is hosting The English Derby and our dedicated team will do their very best to deliver a great Derby’.
‘We are delighted to help Rachel Corden complete the work of her father and fulfil a dream’, says Star Sports owner Ben Keith. ‘To be involved in the next chapter of the English Greyhound Derby is really exciting for us all at Star Sports’.
Ben and the Star Sports team will be standing in the betting ring at Nottingham Stadium for all rounds of The Derby. Mark Kingston, Director of Media Technology & Production at ARC said ‘We are looking forward to being involved with the sport’s most prestigious event, and will work with Nottingham to make it as successful as it can be’.
Richard & Donna Evans of Local Parking Security Ltd ‘are very excited to be involved with the Greyhound Derby, and with Nottingham’s commitment to the sport, enthusiasm and professionalism the Greyhound Derby could not be in better hands’.
