Comeonyoubees is the first entry Star Sports, Arc and LPS Greyhound Derby – and only 56 days to go until it closes – writes Floyd Amphlett!
Nottingham’s Nathan Corden confirmed that Matt Dartnall’s runner was the first in the book with the suggestion that there will be an even greater premium on customer admissions than entries.
He said: “In two weeks we have already passed the 40% admission limit. We have one table for eight people (x £130) left in the restaurant and have sold more than 50% of the grandstand places. The Paddock Marquee is also proving popular.
“We are currently talking to local hotels about potential deals but common sense says we should be sold out long before final night.
“In terms of runners, I am anticipating a significant Irish entry with at least half a dozen trainers planning to bring significant teams of dogs, and they are just the ones we have spoken to.
“You don’t like to get carried away but I think everyone here is confident that we will attract the full 192 runner without too much difficulty.”
